My name is Damini Sharma and I am currently pursuing BA+MA Clinical Psychology from Amity University. I did a one-month internship program at Dwarka Clinic of Psychowellness Center under the supervision of Dr (Prof) RK Suri and Miss Sudipta Das. Along with basics and ethics of therapy and counselling, I learnt so much in terms of assessment, scoring and interpretation of both objective and projective tests. The psychologist and counsellors take their time to explain all the little details about the case (with utmost confidentiality) and any other doubt that I had.
I would highly recommend Psychowellness Center for all students who are planning a career in the field of Psychology.

As part of my programme curriculum (MA Psychology, IGNOU) I was required to complete an internship of 240 hours in counselling psychology. I completed my 3 months internship under the guidance & supervision of RK Suri sir and Kala Sengupta ma’am. I had the opportunity to observe the counselling sessions, and even assist in psychometric tests giving me liberty to interact with the patients to truly understand their issues. Through this I got to learn everything about psychometric assessments, and how to interact with the patients keeping their details confidential. I would definitely recommend Psychowellness Center to anyone who wants to have a great internship experience.

Learning counselling practices and methods, I realised what it meant to be a professional counsellor. I am currently in the second year of my bachelor honours of Applied Psychology. Being free at home made me research about the internship for Clinical Psychology and I came up with Psychowellness Center in Janakpuri. I enrolled myself in the internship for a month under the excellence and guidance of Prof (Dr) R.K.Suri with prudent and skilful imparting of clinical knowledge by Mr Utkarsh Yadav. A month back I got an opportunity to join the Psychowellness Centre, Dwarka for my summer internship.
It has been a very fulfilling experience for me. My learnings at the Psychowellness Centre include: taking case history, mental status examination, administration of psychological tests, enhancing active listening skills through role plays, and the basics of psychotherapy.
My supervisor, Ms.Sakshi Dhankhar, has been very supportive and addressed my curiosity about neurodevelopmental disorders. My favorite part of the internship was observing ABA sessions with children.
Having discussions with Dr.Suri regarding career prospects in psychology and the changing narrative around mental health services in India has been really insightful.
