Ms. Manya Pallavi
My name is Manya, and I am in my 4th year of undergraduate psychology and have recently completed my internship with the Psychowellness Center. This internship has been a unique and formative experience, allowing me to grow in ways I hadn’t fully anticipated. Initially, I had expected a structured introduction to psychology and its aspects, but the internship instead also emphasized adaptability, creative thinking, and self-guided learning.
The day-to-day environment was dynamic, often requiring me to navigate through evolving expectations and take initiative in unfamiliar areas. I got the opportunity to observe online counselling sessions, have a chance at a home visit of a client, create digital content, and even design psychology worksheets. This pushed me to develop practical skills like flexibility, communication, and problem-solving skills that are crucial in any psychological setting, traditional or not.
Ultimately, this experience has broadened my understanding of how psychology can be applied to varying, different formats, like wellness, entrepreneurship, and digital outreach.
This experience has also given me a nuanced perspective on the field and helped me reflect upon the kind of practitioner I would like to become.
