‘ Time management is a process for planning your time , so that you can divide your time for all activities, which you want to complete or in other words , you would be able to complete all your tasks smartly in less time and with maximum efficiency’ .

Here are  some important strategies / points, should be kept in mind for time management.

  1. You all should make a time table for everyday activities. You should divide all activities on a priority basis.
  • When you follow a time table, you should also set a time limit for each activity. If you set a time limit , you can get shorter breaks too to relax yourself.

  • Whenever possible, you should take some breaks / offs / outings. It helps you to become more energised, relaxed, and more fresh. When you feel so much workload in one project, after completing a project, you should take a break to gain energy and freshness to accept another project. It helps you to gain mental energy, physical energy as well as emotional balancing too.

  • One more thing I want to discuss here, when you have so much work load and even you have a deadline to complete a task till a particular date. Then in such a situation one becomes anxious. But there is a need to divide the responsibility so that tasks can be completed within time limits and more efficiently too.

  • As per best psychologists in India  you should be clear for all tasks and activities. It may take some extra time. But later on, you would be able to save several hours.

  • You should also try to minimize distractions or disturbances, while performing any task. For eg. You may keep  your phone on silent while doing work because once  your flow of doing work breaks, you cannot maintain the same continuity and same attention again .

  • Don’t try to do many tasks at a time , otherwise you would not be able to complete any tasks with full efficiency.

  • Time allotment for each task should be enough to complete a specific task. You should keep a watch on time whether you are performing a task within your allotted time or not.

  • You should also know about your most efficient hours. You should use more of those hours for your activities.

  • Sometimes when you make your timetable and even if you are trying to complete all your tasks according to your time table, you may deny other’s work by saying that ‘ I am busy’, ‘ I am completing my daily tasks’.

  • You should also complete your tasks on time as allotted. It should not be left for the other day or some other time.

  • Along with your tasks there is a need to be active and energetic for the whole time. Dr.R.K.Suri, one of the top clinical psychologists in India says,  one of the strategies for time management is staying mentally and physically energetic. So you should do yoga, regular exercises, meditation, be happy, and take healthy sleep. You should be relaxed while performing any tasks.

  • According to psychologists you should try to arrange all activities or tasks on the basis of their importance. You should try to set them on priority basis like:

  a. Urgent tasks-which should be completed first.

                           b. Most important task-you should decide what is suitable time to do these tasks.

   c. Important task – then you can shift towards important tasks. Try to allot time for these activities and finish within given time.

d. Less important tasks – which are less important can be postponed if it is suitable.

e. Not such an important task-which can be done in future too.

  • There is a need to be more punctual, dedicated, hardworking, systematic, far-sighted, efficient utilizing time, when you talk about time management strategies. You should be analytical for your own tasks. You may think about those days, when you performed all your tasks very efficiently.

  • You should know how you can utilize your leisure time to become more productive.

  • You  should also know how you can prevent wasting time.

  • There should be a time for thinking as well as for effective planning.

  • You should not be rigid about your schedule.

  • You should be flexible  if the situation demands.

  • There is a need to understand “ What are the needs , what needs to be done” . You should also focus on your actual needs and requirements.

  • You should also take care of more complex activities which need much time, patience & regularity. Such types of activities can be broken into smaller parts to make them easy and comfortable. In such a way you can prevent wasting time.

  • You must have positive attitude to perform all your tasks’
